    It’s that time of year again {Throwback Thursday}

    I was at Wal-Mart a week or so ago and saw that they had changed out the seasonal area in the front from patriotic July the 4th stuff…to school supplies. I have one child who will be excited for new binders and pencils and such, ready to get back to a routine that allows her to see her friends everyday. I have another child who, well, would just as soon go to work with me. The one bright spot for him is that it is time for a bigger backpack, and the camo one he wanted should arrive any day. I don’t think my children appreciate the arduous task that…

    In which we find ourselves in NOLA…once again

    This time, it was for BB’s birthday. For months, he insisted that for his 7th birthday, rather than a typical birthday party, he wanted us to take him to New Orleans. Specifically, he wanted to go to the zoo, swim in the hotel pool, and eat Turtle Soup at Galatoire’s. I had a moment of panic on Saturday morning, as we were getting ready to leave. At the moment, among other things, we are consumed with the two big “B’s” in our lives. Ballet and baseball.  Sissy is in the studio two nights a week, studying classical ballet and they are currently in final preparations for the big recital of the year. It seems the hour and fifteen minute sessions are getting longer…

    Baby love

    Kirsten Oliphant asked for “a non-sappy love post”. Personally, I can’t wait to read everyone’s take on this, because I love the unconventional when it comes to Valentine’s Day.  For some reason, this strikes me as a good time to foray into something gritty that I’ve been putting off about  why 2013 was not my best year. And perhaps the worst.  2013. The year isn’t going as planned. Instead of energy, January feels off-kilter. Tired. Drained. Nauseated. Huh. What the heck, I’ll entertain this idea for a minute. Maybe even long enough to get to Wal-Mart at 10:30 on a Tuesday night to waste $8.00 on a generic test. Yet…
