    In which we find ourselves in NOLA…once again

    This time, it was for BB’s birthday. For months, he insisted that for his 7th birthday, rather than a typical birthday party, he wanted us to take him to New Orleans. Specifically, he wanted to go to the zoo, swim in the hotel pool, and eat Turtle Soup at Galatoire’s. I had a moment of panic on Saturday morning, as we were getting ready to leave. I knew the forecast was for rain on Friday, and possibly Saturday, in the big easy, but on Saturday morning, I learned there had been some flooding in the French Quarter, with (according to the forecast) more rain on the way.     Home on a holiday…before the holidays

    Today is Veteran’s Day, so first off, I’d like to say thank you to all the brave men and women who have served and are serving in our armed forces. Veteran’s Day means a holiday from work for me. It also happens not to be a school holiday for the kids. That equals a real “me” day, right? Well, it would, except that two of the four people in this household are sick in one way or another, that being me and my six year old. So he is home with me today. He took the couch, I’ve got the recliner. We aren’t up for much of anything. Except that…

    My creative brain is all tuckered out today, so rather than attempt to write something just for the sake of having written, I’ll share with you what I’ve been up to. At St. John’s Episcopal Church, here in Laurel, Mississippi, we are having our annual Wine Tasting & Silent Auction this coming Saturday night.
